Welcome to Primer In Social Care. My name is Norman Harris and I have been privileged to enjoy a career in Social Care, and subsequently Academia for over 30 years. Touched by my experiences, I wanted to share this with people and how our system and organisations shape what is incredibly formative for the many individuals who access, and travel through our social care system. This led to my first book, ‘Primer in Social Care’ being written and proudly published.
Drawing on my decades of experience I explore with you, attachment, change, loss, grief and organisational life – and provide guidance, knowledge and practical exercises to provoke honest thought and discussion.
I hope that, whether like me, you have many many years of experience under your belt, or if you are new in to the professional of social care in its many forms, that my book supports a compassionate, well thought out approach to support a genuine difference in care.
